From Breaking Records to Breaking the Silence in my latest book :

False Cure

I’m Kelly Parker Palace.
I’m a Masters Swim Champion — and also a Skin Champion.

I’ve been known to break records in the pool — as an NCAA Division I All-American, Olympic Trials Qualifier and Masters World Record-breaker.
Swimming has given me discipline, joy, community, and an identity I still cherish.

🥇

But as a child, I spent so much time in chlorinated water that I developed eczema — like 31 million other Americans.
For decades, I used the “standard” doctor-prescribed topical steroids, as directed.

Then, without warning, my skin began to burn, peel, and break down.
When the medications stopped working and I quit them, I went into full-body withdrawal.

🔥

It’s called Topical Steroid Withdrawal Syndrome(TSWS) — a condition that doctors won’t admit to, because it’s caused by overprescribing a dangerous medication.
My skin itched 24/7.
I experienced adrenal crisis. I nearly died.

My mental health collapsed. 😞

The nightmare lasted over a decade, until my body finally recovered from the damage.
Not breast cancer — nor any of my other life hardships — compared to the suffering of TSWS.

🩹

Today, an estimated 3.8 million Americans are going through TSWS.
Globally, that number is far higher — and growing.
Still, the medical community continues to ignore it.

⛑️

My TSWS experience led me to Dr. Marvin Rapaport, a renowned Beverly Hills dermatologist, Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Medicine at UCLA, and the first physician to pioneer the recognition and treatment of TSA and TSWS. Together with Dr. Rapaport, I helped co-found ITSAN in 2012, the International Topical Steroid Awareness Network, the only non-profit battling this epidemic.

🛟

Since 2009 I’ve been a Skin Champion. And you can be a Skin Champion, too.

Help change the future of eczema treatment and the safe use of topical steroids.

💙 Buy False Cure and 100% of the proceeds go to ITSAN.

TSWS affects all demographics and every skin color. It is curable after a long withdrawal process, but it is totally PREVENTABLE, if the medical community would recognize the dangers. ITSAN is the only charity pledged to PROTECT the public, PROVE the condition and PREVENT TSW.
